Fête
performed installation
in collaboration with Christine Marguerite

Materials include: table, chairs, full china service for four, champagne/wine glasses hung as chandelier, silverware, fruit and two performers in evening dress and safety goggles.

Performed Installation: Fete

At first rather idly, a cup or spoon is unexpectedly flung across the room; momentum progressively builds until the performers hurl every item in the 9'x6' space at the floor and walls, just missing each other. Unfolding as an expressionless waltz over the course of two hours, Fête concludes when all of the glasses and china are smashed, and the pair is left breathless and scratched. Viewers are only able to watch through a standard doorframe, covered with plexiglass.

Performed Installation: Fete

Presented at the Collective Unconscious, New York City
October, 1995
